It's the protection against pollution of the surface and against yellowing or slow fading colours.
Retouch varnish
The retouch varnish of Ghiant, is a glossy, re-paintable, provisional protection for oil paintings. They are being used to accentuate the frosted places of the picture and are highly recommended because of the possibility of painting wet on wet and improves putting on a vitrifies impact. It can also be used to grant an oil painting character to Tempera paintings. You can desolve this layer with terpentine oil. FCKW free.
